Homegrown x Starvation Alley Farms

November 25, 2015

We’re starting our winter seasonal before thanksgiving because of the cranberry sauce. Not just any cranberry sauce, but organic cranberry compote made with fresh cranberries from Washington state’s only certified organic cranberry bog. The Turkey Cranberry is stacked with roast turkey breast, organic cranberry compote, sage aioli & greens.

We’ve teamed up with Starvation Alley Farms to bring you this holiday-inspired sandwich for the winter season. Starvation Alley Farms is the first organic cranberry farm in Washington state; their cranberries are grown in Long Beach, Washington and you can find them selling they’re 100% raw, unsweetened cranberry juice at local farmer’s markets (as well as in our fresh Cranberry Limeade, available at select stores).

Starvation Alley Farms not only grows amazing organic fruit, but they also work with the PNW community to ensure farmers are celebrated for their work, and that’s something we can get behind. Cheers to local farmers and to the Turkey Cranberry – now available in all stores!

Homegrown x Mt. Townsend Creamery

Homegrown x Mt. Townsend Creamery

Today is the last day to try our fall seasonal, the Mt. Townsend Grilled Cheese. We’re thrilled when we get to partner with our favorite local producers. This seasonal autumnal sandwich featured Cirrus, a camembert style cheese from Mt. Townsend Creamery.

They’re based on the Olympic Peninsula and only use the highest quality milk from local, family-owned dairy farms. We also featured Mustard & Co., based out of the Georgetown neighborhood in Seattle. Co-founders Bryan and Justin are determined to preserve the raw properties of each of the ingredients they use. It has been so fun to work with such amazing local producers, who are using delicious raw ingredients to make real food. Stop by our stores today to try the #HGseasonal before our winter seasonal starts tomorrow.

Fall Picnic

Homegrown Fall Picnic

There’s nothing we love more than getting outside and eating good food. Whether you found a blanket, a dock or a bench, there’s something about a quick escape that can be so refreshing. So we packed up some sammies, soup & snacks and headed down to the Kirkland waterfront, just down the block from our store. Thanks to the beautiful PNW fall weather we’re having, we were able to enjoy great food and great company along with a healthy dose of fresh air, and it felt like a wonderful way to celebrate the season.

The Fall Seasonal

September 22, 2015

Just like that, fall has arrived. Cooler nights, shorter days, a couple trees changing colors, and only the occasional sunny day – yup, its definitely not summer anymore. We had to bid farewell to our summer seasonal collaboration with Tom Douglas and say hello to our new fall seasonal sandwich.

Introducing the Mt. Townsend Grilled Cheese made with Mt. Townsend Cirrus, Mustard & Co’s classic mustard, local, organic Asian pear & caramelized onion.

We’re very excited for this one, and to be featuring some amazing local products. Mt. Townsend’s Cirrus is a Pacific Northwest style Camembert cheese produced on the Olympic Peninsula using milk from local family-owned dairies. The sandwich also features Mustard and Co. classic mustard, a Seattle-based company focused on producing this flavorful condiment without all the additives. Stop by any of our stores to try out our Fall Seasonal sammie starting today! After all, it’s officially fall now.

We were excited to partner with one of Seattle’s most beloved chefs for our Summer Seasonal this year. Tom Douglas has helped build the Seattle food scene, earning three James Beard awards while doing so. Tom has been known to say “no one can out-effort us” and we like where his head is at. We’re loving his Ancho Molasses BBQ Sauce on our summer seasonal sandwich. The BBQ Chicken Bacon Ranch will be signing off from our menu on September 21st - come by to try it out before fall rears its rainy head.
